Tim Mälzer is the pop star amongst German chefs and is universally considered one of Germany’s most successful TV-Chefs and cookbook authors.

Born in 1971 in Elmshorn – a suburb just outside of Hamburg, Tim Mälzer began his career as a trainee in the kitchens of Hamburg’s prestigious Intercontinental Hotel at the age of 21. After his traineeship he made his experiences in Hong Kong, London and different high-class restaurants. In 2002 he opened his first own restaurant “Weisses Haus” in Hamburg.

Tim Mälzer rose to fame with his daily late-afternoon cooking show “Schmeckt nicht – gibt’s nicht!” on VOX in 2003. Since then he had different TV Shows in free and public TV. He also where one of the first German chefs with his own award-winning live tour “Ham´se noch Hack” in 2007.

The popular TV cook has released many cook books including “Greenbox”, which has been translated for the American market, “Heimat” and “Die Küche”. His new book “Neue Heimat” is expected to be released in autumn of 2018.

With his own TV show “Kitchen Impossible” (since 2016 on VOX) he won the German TV Award for “Bestes Factual Entertainment” twice (2017 + 2018).
